Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Framerope (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares your personal information when you visit or buy from our Shopify store. By using the Store, you acknowledge the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, subscribe to emails or contact us, we collect details such as your name, email address, billing address, phone number (if provided), order details and the content of your messages to us.

Information collected automatically. When you browse the Store, we and our service providers collect your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, time zone, pages viewed, referring website and how you interact with the Store, using cookies and similar technologies.

Payment information. Payments are handled by Shopify and its payment partners. We do not store your full card number or security code. We may receive limited information such as the last four digits of a card and the payment status.

Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from Shopify, payment providers and fraud-prevention services to confirm and secure orders.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to process and deliver your orders, send order confirmations and receipts, provide customer support, prevent fraud and abuse, understand and improve the Store, comply with legal obligations, and, where you have agreed or where the law allows, send you news and offers. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in the email.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or a similar region, we rely on: performance of a contract (to fulfil your order); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention and improving the Store); legal obligation (tax and accounting records); and consent (for marketing and non-essential cookies), which you may withdraw at any time.

5. Who we share your information with

We share information only as needed with: Shopify, which hosts the Store and processes orders; payment processors; providers of email, digital-delivery, analytics, advertising, customer-support and fraud-prevention services; professional advisers; and authorities where required by law or to protect our rights. If the business is sold or restructured, your information may be transferred to the new owner. We do not sell your personal information in exchange for money.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use essential cookies (for the cart and checkout), analytics cookies (to understand how the Store is used) and, if enabled, marketing cookies (to measure and show relevant ads). You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where offered, through our cookie banner. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Store works.

7. Our software and your privacy

Software we provide, such as the Framedown plugin, runs locally on your computer. We do not collect the links you enter, your searches, the media you download or your project files. To work, the software connects directly from your device to third-party services, for example GitHub (to download its tools and updates) and YouTube or Google (to search, show thumbnails and download content you choose). Those services receive requests from your device and handle them under their own privacy policies. The software saves your settings, such as your download folder, only on your own device.

8. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information for as long as needed to fulfil orders, provide support, meet legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. After that, we delete or anonymise it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and California privacy law), you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, receive a copy in a portable format, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data-protection authority. To exercise a right, email [privacy email]. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will respond within the time required by law.

10. International transfers

Shopify and our other service providers may process information in countries other than your own, including Canada, the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures, including the security of the Shopify platform and encrypted checkout, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Children

The Store is not directed to children under [16 / 18], and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

The Store and our software may link to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices, so please read their policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version is always on the Store with its “Last updated” date. Material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
